The AMFA Constitution
Jim Seitz - Technician UAL INDAF
The preamble of AMFA's Constitution is the first indication
that AMFA is focused around the membership. The preamble speaks
for itself it shows that the people who wrote this Constitution
care about their profession and their future. AMFA was created
to represent the aviation professionals in our industry, to
elevate and promote our profession.
Our motto explains our beliefs and what we stand for Skill,
Knowledge and Integrity.
The aim of the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal
Association is to promote and protect the interest of our membership,
to elevate the moral, the intellectual and social conditions
of all Aircraft Technicians and Airline Support personnel in
the Aviation Community.
To encourage a higher standard of skill, to raise the standards,
and increase the recognition of the Aircraft Technician. To
assist and encourage those members who do not have appropriate
licenses, to secure the same, through the establishment of an
educational branch of the Association.
We consider the Aircraft Technician to be highly skilled and
responsible individuals, with a public trust, and we shall continually
strive for higher standards in aircraft maintenance, servicing,
and handling in the interest of public safety and the industry.
We recognize the similar needs and interests of all Aircraft
Technicians regardless of race, color, sex, marital status,
or religion, and bar no individual from membership as defined
in Article XIII except those disloyal to the government of the
United States of America.
With the above principles in mind, we pledge ourselves to uphold
the basic doctrines of trade unionism, to protect and elevate
our profession through a strong unification of Aircraft Technicians
and Airline Support Personnel within an independent skilled
craft union.
The preamble sets the standards for us as Professionals in the
aviation community; we should continually strive for excellence.
We should dedicate ourselves to safety, our profession and to
protect our democratic rights and privileges offered under the
AMFA Constitution. The future of our profession depends on our
actions today.
