AMFA
the Leader in our Profession

AMFA continues to grow year after year by providing its membership
with the best possible representation. Members are part of
a democratic process which allows and encourages membership
participation. AMFA members are part of the negotiating process
and see first hand how elected representatives are delivering
their voice in open negotiations.
Simply said AMFA is the voice of its membership.
It is this type of representation that has allowed AMFA
to represent more mechanics and related than the IAM. This
growth is a testimony to the power of Craft Unionism and
AMFA.
AMFA continues to stand up to airline executives defending
its memberships pay, benefits and contractual rights at Alaska,
American Trans Air, Horizon Air, Mesaba, Northwest, Southwest
and Atlantic Coast Airlines.
IAM reps on the other hand have taken a stand to protect
their own union positions. Over the last two years we have
seen our membership attacked by UAL management with little
representation or information. Contract violations have gone
unchecked and unchallenged.
The IAM has only defended its incoming dues by increasing
part time workers and allowing UAL to transfer Mechanics
and Related jobs to other IAM represented work groups.
IAM REPRESENTATIVES ARE ONLY HERE TO PROTECT THEIR UNION
JOBS!
We have an opportunity to join AMFA and become proactive
in our representation or remain on the rudderless ship called
the IAM sailing into an open sea of concessions and give
backs. It is time to leave the IAM before there are no Mechanics
and Related left at UAL.
